The president of Serbia Boris Tadic inaugurated the Regional Center for the Support and Promotion of Export on Saturday 7 October, 2006 in Leskovac. He expressed confidence that this center would significantly contribute to further increasing export activities in the region. A special focus was placed on product competitiveness in the face of strong global competition. The president also emphasized the fact that high quality of products is a precondition and measure of success of any company.

56 food companies have signed contracts on October 5, with the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management granting funds intended for stimulating the introduction of food safety certificates. Ministry officials and CHF representatives were present at the contract signing.
